About Frontline Books
Frontline Books is a new military history imprint of Pen & Sword Books.
We publish on a very wide range of military history topics and periods, from Ancient Greece and Rome to the present day.
The common factor is well-researched, well-presented quality military history. Our books are regularly reviewed in national
newspapers and magazines, as well as specialist journals and websites.
The main markets for our books are Britain and the United States, plus Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, Europe, and
many, many other countries.
Pen & Sword have an international network of agents, representatives and distributors. Many of our books are translated into the languages, including Polish, Czech, Spanish, Russian, French, German, Swedish and from time to time, Chinese and Japanese.
Our editorial team, Deborah Hercun and Michael Leventhal (formerly of Greenhill Books) are based in our London office, with sales and marketing carried out at our head office in Barnsley. We welcome submissions for new works and any comments on books already published.

Frontline is always looking for good books, and any author (or prospective author) with a suitable work is invited to submit a proposal at any
stage of its development. The minimum we require is a synopsis - an outline of the book's theme and contents, perhaps giving chapter headings,
and if possible an estimate of the extent in number of words. Some indication of the sources used is also helpful. If the book is to have
illustrations then a rough idea of the number and type (photos, line drawings, maps, etc) could be included.
A decision is easier to reach if a sample chapter is enclosed, but even if the script is complete, please do not send the whole work with the initial submission. We do not need a formal CV, but feel free to add any personal details that underline your qualifications for writing this book.
We are a small, dedicated publisher and our aim is to build fruitful and long-term relationships with our authors -
we look forward to hearing from you.
Submissions should be addressed to:
The Editorial Department,
Frontline Books,
5A Accommodation Road,
Golders Green,
London,
NW11 8ED.
